Woooow, I have finally created a blog. I have been planning this pet project of mine for years and putting it off far too many times, until finally here I am. So helllllooooooo, I am so excited to be sharing this with you and hope I find many , if any that will be able to relate to me in some way and maybe even follow me on my journey.
So let me start of by saying that we are certanly not a pro-anorexia blog!!!!!
If anything we are very ani-ano, anti-diet, anti-starvation, anti-overexecise, anti-suppliment and all that other c***!!!
We beieve you should look less like this
And more like this....
What we ( Besties Alex and myself) believe in and will share with you is our journey to health and happiness. We are best friends , geminis (emotions flying wild) who met working full time at Gucci. While Alex is Blonde and faboulus, at 20 years old she has accomplished alot. While working full time with me , in her free time she is completing her bachelor of Marketing and Applied design. While I am a working mother of a almost 2 year old little truble maker, sometimes angel "Mateo"
Through chatting daily, we realised, although we are in very different stages of our lifes, health and beauty wise we all have the same goal. We want to be skinny!!!! But the problem is, we dont not have, or would be willing to spend 3 hours a day in the gym, lifting weights and running on a stationary tradmill, how fun??? Nor do we earn enough to be investing up to 100 dollars an hour for someone younger and fatter then me to pile me on with weights and bulk me up, because he believes thats what women should look like and believes every body responds the same!!!!
Since Alex has been a ballet dancer for as long as she can remember, I have really started to admire how she moves with grace and her straight and lady like posture. Her discipline and movements in everyday tasks, seem feather light and so elegant, as she glides across the floor to get a dress for a client. This gave me an idea I would like to glide like a ballerina. I want a teeny tiny dancers body, long and lean with great posture, that would elongate me and make me look even slimmer. So naturally we started our pet project. While logging in to our blog you will have points of view from 2 different people with the same views, you might find you relate to one of us more then the other, so we hope to find a few of you that will come on board and try and end that long life struggle we have all had with our bodies. What we would like to do is encoporate a ballet inspired lifestyle into our busy and every day lifes and we will be our own guinny pigs on this project.
The idea will consist of 3 aspects:
1. fitness -
I would like to design a class that you can fit into your busy day, eventually I would like to develop a studio that will hold these classes daily. they would consist of three kinds:
-1/2 hour
- 45 min
- 1 hr
Depending on your busy scedule, the shorter the time the more intence the class would be.
And three levels, depending on your fitness:
- begginer
-intermediate
-advance
And finally targeting two different body groups:
-uper body
-lower body
Therefore you can choose to mix it up during the week or stick to one and target a specific problem area, like my butt for example.
The class will be a conbination of moves using small free weights and ancle weights to tone and pilates and ballet inspired movements to strengten your core, straighten your posture and elongate your body.
The second aspect would be food:
We would like to encoporate healthy eating into our everyday life. We both work very hard and will faint if we diet!!! So we will be preparing healthy recepies with real food that are easy and quick to make.
I strongly believe in consuming three real meals a day with REAL FOOD and strongly stand against any form of dieting, shakes and suppliments...YUUUUKKKKK!!!!
So the only NO-NO's are: no white food(except calliflower) . Replace your white bread with wholemeal, your white potatoes with sweet poatatos, your white rice with brown, your white sugar with brown. But we will go more in detail later on. I do always allow myself a coffee in the morning with one sugar and a bit of milk, beacuse I am human and a glass of wine at night.
We would like to create a healthy lifestyle that is easy , that will make you look forward to everyday, not make you want to gag everytime you think of your meal or make you want to eat a pack of Tim Tams everytime you think of your workout!!!
So here it is, my first blog entry, jotting down my ideas, so I apologise in advance if I seem to rant on, my future entries will be much shorter and to the point. So lets try and make you understand what we are trying to accomplish!!! Our journey to a happier and healthier you!!!
Now I am very anti scales, as you do develop your muscles when exersising and although your weight may shoot up you are getting slimmer, so throw away those expencive scales my lady ballerinas and buy yourself a tape measurer as that is what I will use as well as my skinny jeans. What else matters if I can fit my skinny jeans!!!
Now I believe if I myself only get 6 hours sleep a night thanks to my little bundle of joy who loves to be up before the sun every morning and have a dog and a full time job, if I can do this and accomplish my goal , anyone can!!! I will have to prepare meals that my son can eat aswell, so my moto is" Dont eat anything you would give your baby" and will have to exercise with him beside me, so good luck skinny minny here we go!!!!
I would love to begin this journey by getting us in the right mind frame. If you are not at your happiest, your 10km run you did this morning means nothing if you are depressed. Simple-Depressed= fat and happy= skinny!!!! So lets get rid of that cloud of rain above our jilted heads, and put a smile on that frown!!!!
We are very lucky to live in such an amazing country, with beautiful parks and beaches. I live near the city in Sydney and have Cenntenial park at hand which I use almost daily.I will gather my dog "smooch"
, put munchkin the pram and head to Cenntenial park. This is a great place for us, Mateo is amused by the ducks, birds and horses and smooch walks his little soul off and me, I really enjoy this time. It takes me about an hour to walk around the park and back home and its an hour to escape my everyday thoughts , enjoy the nature that surrounds me and with that 2km to and from the park and 4km around, I get a good 8km walk out of it without even feeling like I am exercising. And that is exactly what our program will be about, not exercising but really relaxing and enjoying your workout and not dieting, but eating healthy. Not ever feeling like your on a diet or training program because your not, this is a lifestyle change to a better you. You should eat the food you enjoy and have fun releasing those endorphens, if you love running run, I personally am not a runner. I will walk to Perth if it meant not running on a stationary treadmill for an hour...How fun???? So please find the activities you enjoy and do them . We will learn to do all the activites you enjoyed as a child and bring out the little ballerina in you.
Ok, so enough with the chit chat and lets begin. While on this journey, in my spare time I will be completing my Certificate III and IV in Fitness , afterwhich I will get my pre-natal, post natal training and pilates licence. While I was pregnant I found it very hard to find trained proffessionals to teach you how to exercise safetly. I am lucky enough to have my partners aunty and uncle who own a Gym in Bondi Junction and are both well trained in the field, but not everyone has someone. There is next to no classes out there for future and new mums to transform them into yummy mummies. So in time I will design the Yummy mummy classes, pre and post natal, which I will keep you updated on. hopefully our journey is a success and with your support we can eventually fufill our dream of opening our studio "The Skinny ballerina project" which will be the one stop shop for all of you hidden ballerinas out there...Until next time.....
